Familism (or familismo) is broadly defined as “prioritizing one’s family over oneself” and is probably more prevalent in Hispanic and immigrant cultures, thus also partly explaining the higher death rates in those groups

I have a very different theory as to why there are more deaths at home. The old and sick might have taken the noble decision not to seek hospital treatment so as not to further burden the NHS and to leave their estates and wills to their heirs sooner rather than later, thus sacrificing themselves for the sake of their children. Familism (or familismo) is broadly defined as “prioritizing one’s family over oneself” and is probably more prevalent in Hispanic and immigrant cultures, thus also partly explaining the higher death rates in those groups.

Predictions for 2021

Predictions for 2021 Cases to rise significantly till mid-2021 due to both better testing and people not taking virus seriously Covid vaccine trials successful and rollout will mean pandemic is over by 2022 Trump is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's Death rates for all countries by covid falls significantly as the vulnerable are sadly already dead, we have better anti-virals, better isolation protocols (apparently at the start of the outbreak there was significant transmission within hospitals and care homes as we did not know extent of pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic transmission and airborne transmission rates). Countries that don't have widespread mask wearing have significantly higher death rates from covid. Advances in technology such as AI, AR, VR, GPU, DPU and CPU development mean economies to do not suffer as much as previously predicted

Difficulty putting two Ikea Besta units together to create a deeper 80cm TV cabinet

Main problem is that the 2nd unit is very wobbly without its cardboard back frame. So had to screw 20 plates to hold the two frames together. "It's not the first time we have put something into a hole and started screwing blindly"

To my fellow big eaters and people with high metabolisms:

To my fellow big eaters and people with high metabolisms: When you go into a restauarant and order a meal for two for just yourself do you get strange looks from the staff or nearby customers? One time in Hong Kong an elderly gent near me said "Nei gom ging" or "You are amazing". I had to hold back and not say "That's what she said" :) (Though in Cantonese I think I would have had to say "That's what my girlfriend said" as Canto and Chinese does not have gender specific third person)

Social Dilemna

It is really scary what AI can do. But it is just a technology that can be used for good and bad. With AI we now have so many improvements in quality of life that most people are not aware of as costs of doing business are reduced across many sectors. It's use will rise exponentially so the ability for doing bad or good will similarly rise. We are in a critical stage where we need to see and decide which companies to support in this field. While there is a ton of bad that Facebook do, there is also a ton of good which just outweighs that. Facebook is making advances in VR and AR as well as use of AI to help us communicate in situations that would not normally be possible. Facebook tech can now help people born with only 3 fingers see and use a full 5 fingers with AR. IF you want to be a demon typist Facebook tech can add a 6th finger in AR and allow your brain to adjust and control it!
